Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of covering the sport in depth and telling stories that matter. I’ve covered the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose, the NHL Draft, World Junior Championships, and the sport as a whole for Inside The Rink.

There was always something missing, and that was the brand that stayed as a name and nothing more, Jacko Media.

I graduated from University in April, and it made me reflect on what I was doing. I was covering the Winnipeg Jets’ 2025 Playoff run for Inside The Rink as thoroughly as you could imagine, but two nights in Brandon made me think that the best was yet to come.

I have been on credential covering the Manitoba Moose since January of 2024, and I received a one-game credential to cover the Winnipeg Jets in January of 2025.

I’ve been privileged to work in the college sports scene for Providence University College and the University of Manitoba. That’s where this all took off.

I’m not going anywhere when it comes to my coverage for Inside The Rink. I’m adding to my coverage while also building something I have been envisioning for a long time.

The landscape keeps changing, and it’s time to build something that reflects my goals, where I’m going, and more importantly, where we’re going as a community.

The Jacko Media name has been a part of my social media accounts for well over four years, and the original logo was created around June 2023. The new design is similar to the last, but it freshens things up and sets the tone going forward.

Jacko Media extends beyond a website. It’s a home for original hockey coverage that blends professionalism with personality, insights with storytelling, and community with credibility.

And we’re just getting started.

What You Can Expect

Jacko Media is built on the following pillars:

Authentic Coverage

We’re going to show up, in person, in press boxes, in stands, you name it. You’ll find content here that you may not have found on other platforms. I’ll be writing more behind the scenes and posting more.

Weekly Consistency

Every Monday, you’ll get the latest edition of Jacko’s Press Box, which is to be relaunched in August, on Substack, for free. This series will be one of our flagship series that you will exclusively find on our Substack.

Alongside Jacko’s Press Box, you’ll find the Bargain Bin blog, which is exclusive to this site. It will be an NHL content series running from September to mid-July. Bargain Bin will discuss the hottest rumours and news surrounding the league. Be on the lookout for the launch date.

Podcasts & Short Form Content

We’re going to double down on voice and video content. Every Monday, the Inside The Rink podcast is recorded and published later in the week. At Jacko Media, we will be even more content, including post-game reactions, interviews, and short-form content across all social media channels.

Community-Driven Growth

The final pillar in this whole project. It was the realization that this isn’t just about me. There are so many of us who love sports and believe in elevating the voices around it. This will become a community-first platform that will give new contributors a creative environment to thrive. The tagline ‘from the fans, for the fans’ was born because of this belief.

Where We’re Headed

In the next few months, this is what you can expect:

  • Weekly publishing schedule for articles, recaps, and features.
  • Podcast expansion, to be announced.
  • Jacko’s Press Box newsletter to be relaunched in August on Substack.
  • A focus on turning Jacko Media into a legit platform for sports storytelling

This is just the beginning of what I have planned.

Join Me on the Journey

Whether you’ve been following my work at Inside The Rink or through social media, thank you.

If this is your first time landing here, welcome.

I built Jacko Media to be a space where fans, analysts, and creatives all have a voice.

Let’s build something great, together.

From the fans, for the fans.
